~Inverted Minors

INVERTED MINORS

Over partner’s opening 1C bid, 2C shows 10+ HCP and 5+ clubs and initiates a process to show stoppers, looking for a NT contract; a splinter, looking for 5+ clubs; or a club contract short of game.

Over 2C: Rebids by opener:
~2D shows a diamond stopper and denies a stopper in at least one major.
~2H shows a heart stopper and denies a diamond stopper.
~2S shows a spade stopper but denies diamonds and hearts.
~2NT shows stoppers in all unbid suits and no more than 13 HCP.
~3C denies side suit stoppers and shows a minimum opener.
~3D shows a diamond splinter.
~3H shows a heart splinter.
~3S shows a spade splinter.
~3NT is to play.
~A jump to 4C is Keycard Gerber, as is 4C over 3NT.
~5C is to play.

A raise of 1D to 2D shows 10+ HCP and 4+ diamonds and initiates the show of stoppers in an attempt to play 3NT.

Over 2D:
~2H shows a heart stopper but denies spades.
~2S shows a spade stopper and denies hearts.
~2NT shows stoppers in both majors and shows a minimum opener.
~3C shows a club stopper but denies hearts or spades.
~3D denies side suit stoppers and shows a minimum opener.
~3H/3S are splinter bids.
~3NT is to play.
~4C is a splinter bid.
~4D is Keycard Gerber for diamonds.
~5D is to play.

Over 2NT or 3NT, a jump to 4D is Keycard Gerber.

Next bid by responder: attempts to fill-in the missing controls by bidding suits up-the-line.

~Over any 2-bid in a suit, 2NT shows the missing suits; any suit bypassed denies that stopper.
