~Opening in Third Seat

After two passes, the player in third seat may choose to open with less than 13 HCP or with a hand weaker than a normal one-level opener.
Reasons to open in third seat with a weak hand:
~To make it harder for the opponents to enter the bidding
~To make a lead-directing bid
~You have control of the spade suit.
~You have a good suit and hope to make a part score.
Reasons not to open light in third seat:
~No good suit
~Scattered values
~Weakness in the majors, particularly spades
