~2/1: What does 1H-1NT, 2NT Mean?

1. Opener has 17-18 HCP without a 4-card major and is inviting game.

2. Any bid by responder is forcing to game.

3. Note that this sequence is 1 HCP weaker than the sequence 1D-P, 1H-P, 2NT-P. The initial 1NT bid has promised at least 6 HCP; therefore, opener’s 2NT call is 1 HCP weaker than otherwise expected. Here the 2NT call is not a jump to 2NT.
